Jon Smith

Jon Smith is the pastor of college age students.  He’s a graduate of UMBC (University of Maryland, Baltimore County) with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (no one knows what this is, including Jon). 

His passion is helping college students to know, enjoy and give their lives for the cause of Christ in this world.  His responsibilities include overseeing college Care Groups, speaking at Big Meetings, counseling, leading discipleship groups, and overseeing college outreach.

If you need to find Jon chances are he’s at Starbucks reading the latest book by John Piper, hanging out with college students and talking about God, or riding his mountain bike with his close friend and fellow pastor, Eric Simmons (now senior pastor of Redeemer Church of Arlington, Va.).

Jon and his wife Jenni have two sons, Carson and Chase (Chase went to be with God shortly after he was born) and a daughter, Jade. Jon and Jenni spend their time together hanging out with friends, surfing in the summer, and occasionally throwing the lacrosse ball around (and yes, Jenni throws better than Jon).
