Beholding the Trinitarian God

Something I wasn’t able to cover in my sermon on Ephesians 1:3-14 was what we learn from it about the Trinity. The Bible teaches us that there is one true and living God, who eternally exists in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Christians call this the Trinity—the mysterious truth that God is one in three persons. Though the word “trinity” is never used in the Bible, we see this truth clearly taught in passages like Ephesians 1.

Let me encourage you to listen to Dr. Bruce Ware’s sermon “Beholding the Trinitarian God,” which he preached from this passage a couple years ago.  Dr. Ware walks through these verses pointing out the teamwork of God the Father as he chooses, God the Son as he lays down his life, and God the Holy Spirit as he applies the work of the cross to our hearts.
