Members Meeting - November 14

Covenant Life members: We’ll gather on Sunday, November 14, at 6 p.m. for Members Meeting. Each Members Meeting is an opportunity for the church family to hear our pastors share important ministry news. Joshua and other members of the pastoral team are able to help us get a bigger picture of what God is doing in and through our church and address issues that don’t always fit into our regular Sunday meetings.
It’s not too late to submit questions you’d like to hear the pastors address, or a brief story of how you’ve been speaking God’s Word to others or reaching out in our community. To submit questions and/or a testimony, complete this form by Wednesday, November 10. Please note that the pastors may not have time at the meeting to answer every question submitted.

Here’s an opportunity to pray:
The Sovereign Grace Pastors Conference takes place this week at Covenant Life, starting Tuesday evening and running through Thursday evening. There is no event that’s more strategic for our family of churches. Our pastors and leaders will be gathering around God’s Word to celebrate the glorious gospel and learn to better apply it in the churches they all love and serve. Let’s pray this week for all who attend as they encounter God’s grace in relationships, equipping and training, worship, and teaching.
Let’s especially pray for C.J. Mahaney as he leads the conference and serves all the pastors, wives and guests. Thank you!

For Ladies: Saturday Morning Seminars
5 CommentsThe women’s ministry of Covenant Life Church will be hosting two Saturday Morning Seminars for the women of the church and their guests, one this October, and one next May. These and future seminars are designed to provide encouragement and teaching on a variety of issues, with some seminars targeting the needs of specific groups of women. Here are details on the October seminar:
Charlotte Ennis: An Ordinary Woman and Her Extraordinary God
Walking with God as a Single Woman
Date: Saturday, October 23
Time: 9 a.m. to noon
Location: Events Center
You may think that being single means being alone, but nothing could be further from the truth for the Christian. Our amazing, loving God is always near and always much more involved than we can imagine.
Is it possible to find faith, hope, and joy no matter what? Who is this God who loved us so much that He gave his only Son to save us? What does he say about himself and us? How can we not only be encouraged but excited about the future? Join us as Charlotte Ennis shares a look back on her 20-year walk as a Christian single woman, from the amazing moments to the ordinary days.
This seminar is geared toward single women 18 and over; however, all women 12 and up are welcome and will come away blessed and inspired by Charlotte’s teaching and example. Please join us for a time of teaching and Q&A. No registration required.
Bio
Charlotte Ennis became a Christian at the age of 21. She spent more than 20 years as a working single before she married Pat Ennis (now Executive Director of Sovereign Grace Ministries) in 1995. Charlotte, a UCLA graduate, was the Research and Administrative Services Manager at a large Washington, D.C., publishing company and a member of the board of directors of a subsidiary company.
Today, Charlotte and Pat have three children and reside in Gaithersburg. They are long-time members of Covenant Life Church.

Summer Musical - Five Loaves and Two Fish

Performances of this year’s summer youth musical take place Friday, August 6, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, August 7, at 2:30 p.m. Students in grades 3 - 8 have been working hard over the past two weeks to learn an original musical based on the feeding of the 5,000 entitled “Five Loaves and Two Fish: A Tale of Divine Catering.” The production includes cast, choir, and orchestra and is directed by Patti Goodling.
Simultaneously, Kristina Johnson has been leading a two-week “mini-musical” camp for children in grades K - 2 that also culminates with the kids performing in the “Five Loaves and Two Fish” musical.
Last year’s performances were a big success. Hope to see you there on August 6 or 7.
