Reflecting on the Ministry Night
4 CommentsLast Friday we wrapped up our “Week of Prayer” with a wonderful night of worship and prayer. Kenneth Maresco taught on the ministry of the Holy Spirit. I was encouraged by this e-mail I received today:
Hi Josh,
I met you two Sundays ago at Starting Point. I just wanted to send you an email to let you know how much I enjoyed worship night last Friday. I am a new Christian. I was just saved about 2 months ago, after my first night of Alpha. I have really enjoyed becoming a part of Covenant Life and meeting so many great people. I found the prayer and worship night to be especially encouraging to me. I mentioned to someone that if we did that every single Friday night, I would be there! I don’t know how often these types of events are held at the church, but I would love it if it could become something done more often, maybe once a month?

Several people have told me they’d like to do these more consistently. I’m interested to hear what you think. Leave a comment. And for those who came, feel free to share how God met you that night.

Steff and I were really blessed by the ministry night. It was great to be reminded of the importance of pursuing spiritual gifts and inviting the Lord’s presence in our prayer and worship. Actually, we were both really surprised when you said you were ending the meeting because we thought only an hour had passed (and friends of ours had the same reaction). So the time flew, left us thirsty for more, and we’d echo Amanda’s sentiment that having these more regularly would be great!
By Andrew Mahr on 11/12/2008I couldn’t make last Friday’s ministry night and really wish I could have been there. I think having this more consistently would be a great Idea!!

By Randy VanOrsdel on 11/12/2008Hey Josh,
By Dave Hartman on 11/13/2008I am in agreement that we should have prayer nights often. Maybe even every week. The corporate gathering encourages us through the testimony of the saints. When we enter into the throne room, there seems to be a powerful ability to reveal areas of sin that would otherwise go unnoticed. Humility is cultivated. Repentance and holiness result. Cleansing and renewal. The motivating power of God is on display and a thirst for more of Him is developed.
Hi Josh,
I also echo Amanda’s sentiment to this meeting. I feel the same way. I was very tired that evening and wasn’t sure how I would make it because Evangelino was working. But the Lord had it worked out and even though I was not able to stay for the length of the meeting I was grateful to get the 40min to an 1 hour of it. Having these meetings regularly would be a great blessing!
