Sunday Preview: Don’t Waste Your Kids
4 CommentsTomorrow morning my dad will preach to the church. He will be continuing our series with a message titled “Don’t Waste Your Kids” based on Psalm 127, a passage that describes children as “arrows in the hands of a warrior.”
Bob Kauflin will lead us in singing to the Lord tomorrow, and afterward, fittingly, we will be dedicating a total of 24 children in the two services. Child dedications are always a sweet time of celebrating God’s gift to these parents and to our church. See you tomorrow!

Dear Josh, your father is a gifted speaker. I really, really enjoyed his message today. Please tell him thank you, thank you, thank you. My dad really received something out of it, so thanks again. I really hope to talk to you sometime if you got a chance.
Sincerely, Bradley Veneskey
P.S. Josh at the Family Christian book store says hello.
By Bradley on 07/27/2008Don’t waste your kids. Outstanding message from someone who certainly walked his talk. Convicting and encouraging at the same time. A must listen to for every parent.
By Paul Cleveland on 07/27/2008Thanks for your comments! I will pass them onto my dad.
And for everyone who attended the first meeting, I’d encourage you to listen online to the message. We posted the recording from the second meeting and I think it was even better than the first. My dad spent more time talking about his closing three points.
By Joshua Harris on 07/28/2008When you mentioned that your dad would speaking on this in your Mother’s Day sermon I went home and immediately began looking for the message on line. You said it was his life message, so I thought it must be online somewhere. However, I couldn’t find it on Noble Books site, so I ended up buying two of the series by your mom and have been greatly blessed and encouraged by them. I know the Lord was wanting me to wait to hear your dad’s message on my birthday. :o) What a gift it has already been to our family, Josh. The fruit that the Lord is producing in us already brings joy to my heart. Through your dad’s life, this message and a couple of Mark Driscoll sermons that we are listening to right now God is truly working. All of this in the atmosphere of the grace that we experience week in and week out at Covenant Life is more precious than words. We are so grateful for this church, our pastors, the care we receive. Thank you, Josh, for leading us so well and giving us the “food” we need and the emphasis on dependence and faith and grace for any spiritual fruit.
Because of Jesus,
