Discipleship for Boys (CSB)
The Christian Service Brigade (CSB) Program of Covenant Life Church provides an opportunity for fathers to disciple their sons in Christ, with the goal of guiding them to the Lord, to the Word, to the church and toward Christian maturity. CSB is open to sons of church members in grades 3, 4, 5, and 6. The success of the program depends on fathers participating actively by spending time with their sons, as well as by serving in other capacities during events. Sons of single moms are also encouraged to participate, with leadership provided by a “big brother” or by other fathers in the program.
From October to August, CSB meets twice a month on Monday nights, generally during the first and third weeks. The meeting format includes games, a message, worship, one-on-one time for dads and sons and small group meetings called “posts.” CSB also has monthly activities on Saturdays including hikes, bike trips, visits to historic sites and leaf rakes. In August there is an annual retreat at Hemlock Wilderness Brigade Camp in Wardensville, W.Va.
