Equipping Women

Testimonies

Feedback from Covenant Life Members who attended 2010 Tea and Talk:

•  “I loved the instant fellowship which took place simply because we were both women in Christ. It was so encouraging and faith-building to hear how God had faithfully blessed and provided for a woman who is a couple steps ahead of me in life. It was also good to know that I am not alone in my struggles as a single woman. I attend a Care Group for college-age folks, so it was nice to get counsel and advice from an older, wiser woman.”

• “My guests were two different ladies from different seasons of life – a young single and a married woman with adult children – and it was a blessing to see how God brought us together and to see that the ground is level at the foot of the cross. No matter what season we’re in – married, single, mother of small children or grandma – we all have that same need and we hunger for more of Jesus and desire to please Him.”

• “Some months, now, after our initial Tea and Talk, I am finding that the relationships which began at that first meeting are being extended, as we greet one another on Sunday morning, see one another at various prayer meetings, and generally seek one another out for further updates or opportunities to encourage and to be encouraged. Networking is so important in a large church, and Tea and Talk has helped us to form new relationships and do just that!

I now find that I, an “older” lady, have been “adopted” by the young ladies of a singles’ Care Group, and we are planning Tea and Talk meetings of our own (just had our first one and are planning more). This simply shows us how God can (and does!) work to bring people together, to meet their individual needs for learning and for encouragement–and, prompted by the Titus 2 commands, Tea and Talk has helped this process greatly! Thank you, Women’s Ministry Team, for initiating this!”

• “I got to meet new people and talk with ladies in a season or two ahead of me. It was a joy to just be able to sit and chat!”

• “Being part of a bigger church has been wonderful. I love how we are able to be in a young married with families Care Group, but then I do so miss the interactions that I used to have at previous churches with older women/mentors. So when I first heard about Tea and Talk, I was absolutely thrilled!”

From a Covenant Life Member who attended 2010 Women’s Conference with Elyse Fitzpatrick:

• “Thank you for having Elyse Fitzpatrick come and speak to us ladies! Without exaggeration, in all my years being a part of Covenant Life, her messages are in the very top list of the most impacting ones! I couldn’t wait to get home to share them with [my husband]. I had no idea going into the conference that I would be so deeply affected by the truths she communicated about God’s love for me personally. God knew I needed to be reminded and reminded of his unchanging, boundless love for me!!! Needless to say, my spiritual diet is now focused on studying his love through reviewing her messages, the various scriptures referenced, etc. At a recent care group, I shared the effect of the conference on my soul and encouraged ladies who did not attend to listen online to the conference. As I’ve talked with other friends, they have echoed my experience of the conference as well! So be encouraged. I believe much fruit will be borne in our lives!

I thought this would make you smile. I received a Mother’s Day card from my 16-year old daughter. In the card, she said, “Thank you for making me go to the women’s conference. It was great!” [She had thought that the conference was for “older” women like me, so why was she supposed to go?  :) ]”

From a visitor who attended 2010 Women’s Conference with Elyse Fitzpatrick:

• “I just want to thank you for the Women’s Conference. It was so encouraging and challenging to remember that we are saved by GRACE and not our works. I purchased some of the books that were being sold and I can tell you that the book, Love to Eat, Hate to Eat, is really changing my life. What I find the most beneficial is that Elyse Fitzpatrick constantly refers to scripture, and, of course, it can really apply to anything in your life that can take God’s place.

I really appreciated her ministry and the ministry of Covenant Life. My hope is to really work out the book in my life and then help others as God leads me.”
