Choirs
Covenant Life offers a variety of choirs for students in grades 2-12. Choirs provide students with an opportunity to learn vocal skills while singing challenging repertoire in a God-glorifying context. Singing in choir is a context for growth in musical expression and in devotion to God. The choirs sing both traditional choral repertoire and contemporary worship music.
Choirs to be part of CLS School Day!
We are partnering with Covenant Life School and are excited to announce that all CLS 1st - 10th grade students will participate in one of our choirs. CLS students do not need to register for choirs. All other students should register below.
Primary Choir
1st-2nd grade

The Primary Choir is an opportunity for students in the early elementary grades to learn the excitement of singing and making melody to the Lord in a choral setting. Students will sing in unison and in simple rounds, and will have the opportunity to perform a song together with the older choirs in the Fall Concert.
Fee: $60 per semester
Time: Thursdays, 1:55 – 3 p.m.
Rehearsals begin: Thursday, January 7
Elementary School Choir
3rd-5th grade

Students in the Elementary School Choir sing two-part arrangements of both classical and contemporary pieces. We worship the Lord together in song and address key areas of singing such as warm-ups, breathing, posture, tone and diction.
Fee: $60 per semester
Time: Thursdays, 1:55 – 3 p.m.

Middle School Choir
6th-8th grade

The Middle School Choir offers 6th-8th grade students an opportunity to grow in their vocal and musical ability while learning two and three part repertoire. Students are taught to sing together joyfully and use their voices to praise, worship and glorify God. All students new to Covenant Life ensembles will participate in a brief placement audition at the first class. We desire to place students in the ensemble that most effectively fits their gifts and abilities.
Fee: $80 per semester
Times: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1:55 – 3 p.m.

High School Choir
9th-12th grade

The High School Choir provides high school students an opportunity to sing challenging repertoire in three and four parts. Because we focus on teaching vocal technique, students are taught both ensemble singing as well as how to participate in small group and solo styles. All students new to Covenant Life ensembles will participate in a brief placement audition at the first class. We desire to place students in the ensemble that most effectively fits their gifts and abilities.
Fee: $80 per semester
Times: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1:55 – 3 p.m.
Rehearsals begin: Tuesday, January 5
Select Choir
7th-12th grade
By audition only
The Select Choir provides 7th-12th grade students an opportunity to sing challenging repertoire in three and four parts. Because we focus on teaching vocal technique, students are taught both ensemble singing as well as how to participate in small group and solo styles.
Please note: this choir is by audition only. Auditions will be held on Tuesday, January 12, from 3:15 - 5 p.m. Students will sign up for a 10 minute audition slot (5 students per audition time). Students should be prepared to sing scales, The Gospel Song, and possibly sing some harmonization. Fee: $45 per semester
Times: Tuesdays, 3:15 – 4:45 p.m.
