Volunteer Opportunities

Due to the large number of students in Covenant Life’s choirs, we have many volunteer opportunities.

We are asking all parents to serve at least twice during the semester: once as a Rehearsal Helper, and once as a Concert Helper. A detailed list of all of our volunteer positions is below. A Volunteer Coordinator will be contacting you to sign you up for these slots.

REHEARSAL HELPERS

Babysitters for Choir Rehearsals

Our directors all volunteer their time, and many of them have young children. Parent volunteers serve by watching these children (5 - 8 children, ages 2 – 7) at the church during rehearsals. We need two parents to serve as babysitters for each rehearsal. Parents may bring younger siblings.

How often: one rehearsal
When: 3:05 - 5:30 p.m.
Total needed: 22 (two helpers per rehearsal)

Choir Registration Helpers

Because we have so many students participating in choirs, we need help registering these children for the first few weeks. Registration helpers would sign in students, direct them to their appropriate classrooms, and assist with on-site registration.

How often: one time
When: 3 – 3:45 p.m. (First three rehearsals only)
Total needed:
8 (two helpers per week for three weeks)

Rehearsal Supervisors

Parent Helpers are needed to supervise children both at our dress rehearsal and on the night of the concert. These parents supervise students during the rehearsal times and help with bathroom breaks. These helpers will need to move students on and off stage during the concert, and may need to be in the hallway or the lobby with children during parts of the concert.

How often: one to two rehearsals
When: 3 – 5:15 p.m. for Grace Notes Choir (4 – 6th grade); 3 – 4:45 p.m. for Make a Joyful Noise Choir (2 – 3rd grade)
Total needed: 22 slots for Grace Notes Choir (2 helpers per week); 40 slots for Make a Joyful Noise Choir (4 – 5 helpers per week)
