Men are called to be leaders. Men are called to be servants. But why? If you’re like me you’ve probably had that thought. Kevin Rogers will be preaching from the Scriptures with the answer to this question. On Friday, July 20th @ 7:30pm all the single men in the church will be gathering to learn more about Christ who perfectly imaged God as both leader & servant for our benefit.
Guys, do yourself, the church & the world a favor by coming out to this teaching!
Our friend, Carolyn McCulley, is writing a new book on the topic of work and womanhood & she will be here to teach this subject on Friday, July 20th @ 7:30pm. She will help married & single woman alike see their call to work as image bearers of God & how this intersects with their individual priorities of home, family, church & career. About this Carolyn says: “If we understand the dominion mandate rightly, we will stop thinking that our labors somehow define us and will start thinking that our labors exist as an expression of divine love and care. Thus the woman who labors as a mother of small children or a childless woman who labors in an office are both fulfilling the dominion mandate if they are working not to adorn themselves but to adorn the gospel.”
Carolyn is bringing this needed perspective as a nationally known speaker & author on biblical womanhood. Over the last few years she has added entrepreneur to her resume with the start up of her documentary film company. We know questions can abound for women who are either working in the home or in a career and we believe this talk will bring a greater biblical clarity to those questions.
This past January a team of us went to Uganda to preach the gospel, lead a youth conference, and care for widows by repairing their homes - it was an awesome trip. A team led by Drew Garfield and Robin Boisvert is going to Uganda January 11-24, 2013 and we’d like you to consider joining & supporting this vital and significant gospel work 8000 miles away.
The past 5 years that we’ve partnered with Pastor Moses & Kiburara Gospel Centre Church in Uganda we’ve witnessed the planting of 6 new thriving churches, we’ve seen how a youth conference has renewed & encouraged Ugandan believers, and on our evangelistic outreaches we’ve had the joy of sharing the gospel and witnessing hundreds of people come to Christ.
In a country with overwhelming needs it can be easy to be discouraged but with patient, consistent preaching of Christ and building up of His church it’s incredible to experience firsthand God’s mission to make disciples in a context different than ours. Each trip opens eyes, with strengthened and renewed faith, to see that the gospel really is the power of God unto salvation, that the fields are ripe for harvest, and that the gospel really is “bearing fruit & increasing in the whole world.”

The 1st Friday of every month Isaac will be leading a Bible study for men who are interested in studying the Word together, and growing in an understanding of what it means to be a man today. God has called us as men to be imaging Him in how we lead, serve, sacrifice, and obey. The risk-taking adventure of following Jesus requires courage & faith. We’ll be looking to God together as men for direction in our call.
The Bible study is every month on the 1st Friday at Isaac’s place.
