Schedule

Summer Celebration 2011 will be held Monday through Friday, June 20-24. The camp runs from 9 a.m. until noon each day.

Registration & Age Info

Registration is open until we fill our 500 of our slots. If there are still openings by the week of camp, walk-in registration will be available.

The camp is open to kids age 6-10. Children who turn 6 by the end of August or are 10 years of age when registration opens on April 1st are welcome to attend.

We understand that these age cutoffs can cause confusion for kids who end up being unable to attend with their friends. Our goal for the birthday range we have is to allow as many kids as possible to attend with other campers in their grade level. However, this is the widest we are able to open the age range and we are unable to make further exceptions.

2011 Curriculum

We will use the week to take an in depth look at The Ten Commandments, teaching them in ways appropriate for young children.

The first four commandments show us what our heart should be toward God:

  • #1 “You shall have no other gods before me.” Exodus 20:3 This shows us that God is greater than all other gods and he is worthy of our praise.
  • #2 “You shall not make for yourself a cared image.” Exodus 20:4 This shows us that God’s greatness cannot be shown by anything that man could make.
  • #3 “You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain”. Exodus 20:7 This shows us that God’s name and reputation is precious because God is most valuable and worthy.
  • #4 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.” Exodus 20:8 This shows us that we can rest because God is able to provide for His children.

The final six commands show us what our heart should be toward others:

  • #5 “Honor your father and your mother.” Exodus 20:12 This shows us that God wants us to honor those who are in authority – those who have position over us – because God, the greatest authority, is worthy of honor.
  • #6 “You shall not murder.” Exodus 20:13 This tells us to respect the life of others because God is the Creator of life.
  • #7 “You shall not commit adultery” Exodus 20:14 This tells us to be faithful because God is faithful.
  • #8 “You shall not steal” Exodus 20:15 This tells us that God gives us all things and knows just what to give us. We do not need to take from others because God is wise and knows how much each person should have.
  • #9 “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.” Exodus 20:16 This tells us not to lie because God is not a liar.
  • #10 “You shall not covet.” Exodus 20:17 This teaches us that God is the greatest treasure. When we have God we have all that we need.

A new kid's album on The Ten Commandments is in production to be released for the camp.

About Summer Celebration

Summer Celebration is packed with great teaching, funny skits, exciting games and much more - all designed to help your children learn from the Bible how godly character can make a difference in their lives. Whether it's Douglas Doogleberry's hilarious antics, or learning new dance moves with the Tree House Gang, there's something here for every kid.

Summer Celebration

Don't just take our word for it. Here's a quick story from one camper's mom:

"My daughter woke up Wednesday morning and wasn't feeling the greatest. I told her she could take a break from camp. She immediately responded, 'Oh no Mom, today they are talking about forgiveness and I have two people I need to forgive so I need to go!' What incredible encouragement to me!!! Thank you Jesus for this camp and every person who is working to make it happen!"

Games

Summer Celebration

Our games played each day create a context to test and reveal this godly character in the life of the campers. Each day, camp volunteers will nominate children for awards based on their demonstration of the trait of the day. Stories of these moments are shared throughout the week, further inspiring the kids to grow. We want to celebrate and honor what God honors. Summer Celebration continues to be this unique context for calling children to godly character while pointing them to their need for Jesus Christ. We hope your children will join us this year.
