Did you know that in 2016 there were more deaths in the U.S. related to heroin overdose than homicides? Have you heard that heroin and opioid dependency has more than doubled in Maryland over the last decade? In our county and across the country, heroin, opioid and drug overdoses have reached alarming levels.

As part of National Substance Abuse Prevention Month, several Montgomery County agencies have joined together to host three Community Forums, each focusing on a distinct geographic area of our county. The first will be held at Covenant Life Church on October 21.

Join us! Save a Life Montgomery is a FREE community forum designed to highlight medical, legal and behavioral issues and services related to opioid and substance abuse.


The October 21 event is sponsored cooperatively by Covenant Life member Captain Charles Carafano of Montgomery County Police, the State’s Attorney’s office, Department of Health and Human Services, Bar Association and Many Voices for Smart Choices.
