A Story of Living Hope: Matt Lowe
7 Comments
Matt Lowe shared with the church family this past Sunday about his struggle with a recurrent brain tumor that has required multiple surgeries and presented serious challenges for his family. Although this trial is ongoing, the Lowes continue to be an example of faith and joy in suffering.
Matt’s wife Helen accompanied him on stage, and after his testimony, Joshua and others from the pastoral team prayed for the family. Matt and Helen have six children, ranging in age from 1 to 13.

Matt: Your faith is an example to me. The reality of God is one of my weaknesses and you know that trials have a way of bringing reality back into focus. I want to learn it without those “hurts” perhaps I will…My prayers are daily for you , Helen and the kids.
My heart is with you 100% in all that you expressed. May I also be a support to you as needs arise.

By Tom on 09/02/2010Matt and Helen:
Thank you, thank you, thank you, for your faithful walk with Christ through this severe trial. Having the privilege of living near you for a season, I can confirm that your faithfulness is constant, far-reaching, and continuous. Those of us who know you as friends, can only stand back and marvel at God’s amazing grace through you. What an incredible testimony you have; I am provoked to love Christ more because of your strong proclamation of God’s work and of His glorious cause in your suffering. It is my joy to say with you, “Blessed be Your name!”
Our prayers from Michigan will continue…please know you are very much loved.

By Sandy on 09/04/2010“Surely He hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.” Isaiah 53:4-5.
“Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let him pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: and the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed any sins, they shall be forgiven him.” James 5: 14-15.

I wasn’t able to be at the service when you shared your story, but was deeply moved while watching it here on-line. I sense God will use this technology to proclaim His glory through your trial to an audience much larger than just our church family. Your family’s faith has provoked me. I found myself praying with Josh as he prayed at the end of the video.
Thank you for taking the time to share your story. Your family is a gift to our church.

Hi Dear Lowe family!
By Nichole Batluck on 09/24/2010Thank you for your wonderful testimony and thank you for loving Jesus more and more each day- despite all the suffering you are enduring! you are special! I have had the joy of watching Piper in the nursery since she’s the same age as my twins. She is a total joy 100% of the time! I’m sure she tests you at some point during home life, but she’s such a little angel at church. I am PRAYING for your healing!
Love, the Batlucks
Lowe Family!
Matt, your mom Deb has been a joy to us as she helps at Shared Pregnancy Women’s Center. Your testimony helps my faith…..Such a beautiful family…and such courage you display….I taught this morning at your parents’ church, Grand Ledge Baptist, and in silent prayer time my heart was with you and your family.
