Burma Medical Mission: 1500 Served
1 Comments
Above: Doctors from both Sovereign Grace Church of Fairfax and Covenant Life provide medical care.
Four Covenant Life members returned on January 21 from a weeklong Medical Mission in Burma. Partnering with members from other Sovereign Grace churches, they conducted medical clinics to support the work that a recent graduate of the Sovereign Grace Pastors College is doing in Burma.
Quick facts about the trip:
• The team saw approximately 1500 men, women and children in four days of clinics!
• Three clinics were held in rural villages, and two of those were in areas that lack a church. The hope is to eventually establish churches in both locations.
• Another clinic was held in a more urban setting at an orphanage.
• A fund has been established to provide for the hiring of a Burmese nurse who will be able to provide follow-up care up for some of the more serious medical needs diagnosed by the team members.
Praise God for providing opportunities and means for our church and others in the Sovereign Grace family to come alongside indigenous ministries that are doing the work of the gospel!
