Praying for Prodigals
3 CommentsIn our pastors prayer meeting yesterday, we took time to pray for prodigals. We were especially encouraged by the report of God’s work in the lives of two young men who grew up in our church but turned from God, and now have been wonderfully and powerfully saved. This filled us with faith to continue to pray for the lost—particularly those who have heard the truth of the gospel, but have turned away from it.

Thank you for sharing that your church is praying for those who are prodigal sons and daughters. And that the Lord has brought back two young men who are now walking in step with the Lord again.
I was doubly encouraged to pray for my own children, who are doing well by the world’s standards, but who are not following the Savior,to whom thay gave their lives in their younger lives.
Thank you again for the encouragement.

We are always so well cared for by our pastors; what a gift of grace they all are to us! Thank you for carrying us as sheep on your shoulders and on your hearts and for pursuing the lost sheep as well.
By Donna Banks on 09/05/2008As a “prodigal”, I request that you cease your prayers. I know this request will do no good and this comment will in all probability be deleted, but I nonetheless wanted to make my statement heard.
Since leaving Covenant Life several years ago, I have finally been able to learn what it means to lead a happy, healthy, fulfilling life. I know you will sigh and feel sorrow at my ignorance and blindness to the misery I’ll be handed by “the world” or the life hereafter, but I actually feel sorry for you and those I left behind at your church… For the first time since I entered those doors I no longer want to kill myself. I don’t feel like a worthless, miserable excuse for a human being. I’m happy.
So, good luck with your “prodigals” but know that under no circumstances will I be a returnee. Consider me a lost cause if you want, but I’ve finally escaped your god’s jail and enjoying this beautiful world.
