Song I Can’t Stop Singing

A few weeks ago during worship our choir sang the song “Glorious and Mighty.” I haven’t been able to stop singing it since then. Yesterday I was blasting it in my car as I drove to and from work. It was a much needed break from all the latest presidential election coverage. The words of the third verse did my soul much more good than the news:

Majesty, You fashioned the heavens
Your decrees can never be changed
Over all the plans of the nations
Your judgments reign

Amen! God’s decrees and purposes can never be changed. What an awesome, glorious and almighty God we worship. I hope you’re singing and praising him with joy today.

If you don’t have the song, it’s from the Psalms album. You can get it on iTunes or listen to it or buy it from Sovereign Grace Music. And for all you musical types, Bob Kauflin lists the choral arrangements on his site.

I know exactly how you feel! I flew from Washington to Ireland the day after WorshipGod08 and listened to that song for pretty much the whole flight, and several days afterward! Can you use your pastoral powers to get a recording of the choral arrangement up somewhere?

Thanks Josh for the music recommendations. Singing praises to God seems to be unique to the Christian faith and isn’t found in any worldly religion. I enjoy your recommendations because good music with deep meaning can sometimes be hard to find =)
