Terry Virgo Here December 10 and 11

November 30 2011 at 1:00 pm 7 Comments

Terry Virgo will be with us here at Covenant Life for services on Sunday, December 11, and he will also teach on Saturday evening, December 10, at 6:30 p.m.

Terry’s theme in teaching will be the work of the Holy Spirit, drawing from his book, The Spirit Filled Church. We hope that you will join us.

Terry Virgo is based at Church of Christ the King, Brighton, UK, and is the founder of Newfrontiers, a worldwide family of churches together on a mission to establish the kingdom of God by restoring the church, making disciples, training leaders and planting churches. He and his team serve nearly 700 churches across 60 countries.

A well-known Bible teacher, Terry speaks at conferences internationally and hosts the annual Together on a Mission conference in the UK, which draws thousands of delegates from around the world.

Terry has written several books, including The Spirit Filled Church, God’s Lavish Grace, God Knows You’re Human, The Tide is Turning and No Well-Worn Paths, which is his biography.

I am thrilled CLCs dear friend Terry Virgo is visiting us and Teaching-Two-Times!! What a gift to have such a seasoned soldier for Christ to come and share from God’s word.

We have been so blessed with the friends Josh has had in to teach us from God’s word over the last year +. My prayer is that the rich word from these men, as well as our very own pastors, is being planted deep in the soil of grace to shape us for the work God still has for Covenant Life Church to do!

I’m encouraged by God’s apparent love for us… not just because of the visiting teachers, mind you, but because (and especially) how well our pastors are caring for us.

Thank you brothers, Martin

For those unfamiliar with Terry Virgo, you are in for a real treat.  He has an uncanny ability to tell a story with vivid images that last for decades.  I can still recall several message from 15-20 years ago - one on Elijah; one on God fashioning an arrow.  The principles drawn from these messages have ministered to me numerous times over the past few decades

Praise God! We have missed seeing and hearing Terry Virgo over the years. Wonderful memories of “Celebration Meetings” gone by. So thankful he can visit us during this season in our church. Means alot!

Likewise, I am very pleased that Terry will be with us at CLC. I am one of the older members that remember the times Terry has been with uis and the past Celebration weekens in Indiana,Pa. I have his books, Does the Future have a Church and The Restoration of the Church as those that provided vision and hope.
I recently had a visit with a long time friend in Missouri that is
a member of a New Frontiers church and he provided fresh excitement with all New Frontiers is doing all around the world with church planting in so many nations and the expanding influence of Terry with so many relationships within the wider Body of Christ. Also I learned of New Frontiers embracing both the reformed and charismatic theology. I am praying Terry provides both wisdom and refreshment that our local church so needs at this time and a growing renewed friendship/relationship.
May the Holy Spirit fall afresh on Covenant Life this week.
Thanks Josh and the pastoral team for inviting Terry.

Sincerely,
Steve Toops

I really don’t have sufficient words to describe how important this weekend was for me and my family.  MORE LORD!  Pour out Your Spirit!  Jesus is with us by His Spirit and promised that we would do greater works than Jesus…more in number because by sending his Spirit to I dwell and empower each believer His work is multiplied in the earth!  What an amazing God we have!

Thank you for inviting Terry and thank him for coming!!
