Serve Our Church
Serve Our City & World
If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will be my servant also (John 12:26).
As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another (1 Peter 4:10).
All around us, cultural pressure is increasing and theological literacy is declining. There is increasing confusion and dysfunction. As a result, we believe that an hour of worship and preaching is no longer enough to fully equip the church for its calling in this age. Sunday Classes will help us go deeper into theology, cultural issues, and practical Christian living.

Why do we need creeds? This class will provide the rationale for and benefits of affirming historic Christian confessions of faith. Particular attention will be given to the London Baptist Confession of 1689 and how it could function within Covenant Life. Each class session will include teaching followed by open Q and A time with a panel of elders.

As Christians we delight in our past forgiveness and look forward to a future with God. However, many times we have a harder time applying the gospel in the present. This class is an introduction to a model for Christian growth. The Three Trees is a framework that aims to accurately summarize the Bible’s teaching on how we move towards holiness. If you want to understand how God changes you through the gospel or how to better help others, this class is for you.

The Gospel of Mark paints an important portrait of Jesus as Israel’s promised Messiah. Mark’s account also makes clear how Jesus’ kingship confounds public expectations by emphasizing his humility, suffering, and sacrifice. Our study will consiste of four basic components: (1) reflection questions help readers engage the text at a deeper level; (2) “Gospel Glimpses” highlight the gospel of grace throughout the book; (3) “Whole-Bible Connections” show how any given passage connects to the Bible’s overarching story of redemption, culminating in Christ; and (4) “Theological Soundings” identify how historic orthodox doctrines are taught or reinforced throughout Scripture.
