Covenant Life Church Installs Kevin Rogers as Lead Elder

Pastor and Elder Receives Enthusiastic Support of Board and Congregation


Gaithersburg, MD: On Sunday, February 28, Covenant Life Church installed Kevin Rogers as Lead Elder. The installation service concluded a year-long process of review by the church’s Board of Elders, ministry leaders, and congregation. The Board of Elders officially and enthusiastically recommended Kevin Rogers to the congregation as the Lead Elder Candidate on December 6, 2020. The congregation affirmed the Board of Elders’ recommendation on January 24, 2021 with 96% support.

According to the church’s Constitution, as the Lead Elder, Kevin Rogers’ main duties are to serve as the church’s primary preaching and teaching elder and to provide visionary leadership to the elders and the church. He remains accountable to God ultimately, and to the Board of Elders, for his leadership in the church.

Kevin and his wife, Jami, joined Covenant Life Church in 2004. He became a part of the church staff in 2007 as Ministry Teams Director. After completing the Sovereign Grace Ministries Pastors College, Kevin joined the Covenant Life pastoral team in 2010 as the College and Career Age Singles pastor. He held a variety of pastoral and leadership roles over his decade of service and had been functioning as Interim Lead Elder since March 2019.
