Foster Care Opportunities

Info Meeting Dinner: Saturday, October 1, 6 PM

Each year, hundreds of vulnerable kids enter Montgomery County’s foster care system. Some are restored to their own families after the crisis ends. But others remain in the system, traumatized by painful circumstances and broken relationships. During the month of September, a special photo display in our church’s main lobby will feature kids living in our area who want to be, and are able to be, adopted out of the foster care system. Please take a few minutes to visit the Heart Gallery and pray for these children. Pastor Dave Brewer and his wife Jen have opened their home to 10 foster care kids over the past few years. On Saturday evening, October 1, they will host a dinner at their home for anyone who would like to know more about foster care.

“Bridges” Seminar

Saturday, October 29, 8:30 AM - 5 PM, Spurgeon Room

World events have caused growing concerns about Islam. We may think of Muslims as unapproachable or even hostile. Having spent ten years on the mission field, guest instructors James and Faith Cha will answer common questions and show how to form friendships with Muslim neighbors and co-workers. The day’s six sessions include prayer, discussion, videos, group discussion, and action assignments. $10 fee includes lunch and student manual.

A Night in Central Asia

Saturday, November 12, 7-9:30 PM

In January, hundreds of Christian workers based in Central Asia will gather for a conference in Europe. Covenant Life has the privilege of sending a worship team to refresh and encourage these battle-weary saints. In order to raise prayer support and funding for this trip, the team is hosting “A Night in Central Asia” coffeehouse on Saturday evening, November 12. All are invited to come and enjoy gourmet desserts, live music, and photos and stories presented by veteran Central Asian missionaries.

Perspectives Course – Returning in August 2017!

Over the past two years, dozens of CLC members have been transformed through the Perspectives Course. Regional leaders advised us to take a year off, but we are already making plans to offer the 15-week course again on Tuesday evenings next Fall.
