Sunday Classes help us go deeper into theology, cultural issues, and practical Christian living.

All around us, cultural pressure is increasing and theological literacy is declining. There is increasing confusion and dysfunction. As a result, we believe that an hour of worship and preaching is no longer enough to fully equip the church for its calling in this age. Sunday Classes will help us go deeper into theology, cultural issues, and practical Christian living.

1. Membership Matters

This 4-week class is designed to give a deeper introduction to Covenant Life Church. As pastors explain the beliefs and values that shape our church life, you’ll get a better sense of the church community and discover ways to get involved.

2. Post-Reformation Church History

In this class on Post-Reformation Church History, we will be covering such subjects as the Puritans, the Rise of Confessional Christianity, European Wars of Religion, Pietism, The Age of Reason (The Enlightenment), The Church in the New World, The Great Awakening, The Rise of the Modern Missionary Movement and other exciting topics.

3. Relational Evangelism

After His resurrection, Jesus outlined the plan: “… you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8). But how do we do that, and where do we start? How about next door!

We find ourselves providentially placed in one of the most diverse regions in the country. But often the hardest journey is just to cross the street.

This class combines three mini-courses (with participant guides) and readings from one short book to help us grow in relational evangelism right where God has placed us, working together as a church. We hope to emerge with opened hearts, untied tongues, and tools that enable us to carry God’s love across the street and beyond. Come join us!

4. Pauline Epistle Survey

Letters are occasional. This means that each letter that was ever written has a specific audience and purpose in mind.

If you were to write an encouraging letter to a friend in college back in March 2010, it would look vastly different than writing an encouraging letter to a friend at the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020. This is no different in the Pauline epistles. When Saint Paul wrote the letters to the churches or specific people, Paul had a specific purpose in mind.

This course will take a survey of the epistles written by Saint Paul as well as his theological background. By the end of this class, students will have a broad working knowledge of each Pauline epistle (with the exception of the letter to the Romans) and an understanding of Saint Paul's theology. In other words, students will be able to give a 2-3 sentence summary of each epistle.

5. Men's Bible Study: Acts

Acts is the story of what Jesus continued to do through His people after His resurrection and ascension.

In this 10-week study, we'll follow the growth of the early church, the coming of the Holy Spirit, the spread of the gospel across the Roman world, and the lives of ordinary men and women whom God used in extraordinary ways. Along the way, we'll see how the book of Acts fits into God's larger plan of redemption, deepen our understanding of key biblical truths, and consider what it means to live as faithful witnesses for Christ today.

Whether you've studied Acts before or are reading it for the first time, our goal is not simply to gain more knowledge, but to know Christ more deeply and be shaped by His Word.

6. Women's Bible Study: The Psalms of Ascents

Perched on a hill, Jerusalem was Israel’s haven and fortress, the center of worship for God’s people. Middle and High School Class

This class provides youth with another opportunity for teaching, discussion, and fellowship. High schoolers are encouraged to participate in an adult class above, but are welcome to join the Youth Sunday Class if they prefer.
