Spring 2024 Sunday Classes

Sunday Classes help us go deeper into theology, cultural issues, and practical Christian living.

All around us, cultural pressure is increasing and theological literacy is declining. There is increasing confusion and dysfunction. As a result, we believe that an hour of worship and preaching is no longer enough to fully equip the church for its calling in this age. Sunday Classes will help us go deeper into theology, cultural issues, and practical Christian living.

1. Rooted: A Study of the Westminster Confession of Faith

Register–Rooted

The Westminster Confession of Faith is a consensus theological document (it’s not just the thought of one man, but the distillation of the work of 120) teaching us who God is and what He has done. All true theology leads to doxology. In other words, this study will help us to worship God in Spirit and truth—the reason we were created!

This class is designed to put into practice the basics of bible reading and other spiritual disciplines to investigate those basic concepts. The class will feature a 6-week bible reading plan through the book. Each Sunday we will study the assigned reading for the day and discuss what we’ve been learning throughout the week.

This class is ideal for new believers and anyone looking to strengthen their ability to read and understand God’s word.

3. Principle-Based Parenting

Register–Parenting

Principle-Based Parenting is designed to help parents understand and apply biblical principles* to the privilege of parenting. (While the focus is on principles, practical examples will be peppered throughout; with an emphasis on Christian liberty as opposed to cookie-cutter, copy-and-paste expectations for Christian parenting.) In our former parenting class we covered parenting approaches and foundations. We learned how to approach the different seasons of parenting effectively by wisely stewarding God-given authority, relationship, and influence.

In this class we will cover parenting contexts and foundations. We will learn how to wisely navigate the different contexts facing today’s parents, highlighting home, church, and societal culture.

4. Women's Bible Study: 1 & 2 Peter

Register-Women's Bible Study

Peter's Epistles are a rallying cry for hope. Written to a young church facing intensifying persecution, they showcase the living hope of the gospel even in the midst of trials and tribulation. Through the themes of suffering, the transformative power of God, spiritual authority, false teachers, and the last days, Peter directs us to the God who is faithful in our trials, working them for his glory and for our good.

1–2 Peter are letters written to churches experiencing various kinds of trials—false teachers, distorted views of the gospel, and harsh persecution. Together, these letters form a kind of manifesto of hope for living faithfully no matter how dark the times. This study highlights the importance of holding fast to the true gospel, living distinct, holy lives, and looking ahead to the return of Christ.
