Sundays at Covenant Life

Worship God. Love One Another. Make Disciples of Jesus Christ.

Sunday Service at 10:30am

Worship God through sermons, songs, sacraments, and Spirit.

Welcome to Covenant Life Church! Our weekly Sunday Service is the most important time for our community, so we are glad you are here. What is our Sunday Service about?

Sermons

We believe the Bible is God's Word. Learning it is the only way to salvation. Loving it is the only way to know God. And living it is the only way to true joy. Our pastors preach the entire Bible, typically going through a book from start to finish. Our sermons are designed to teach, strengthen, and encourage.

Songs

We believe God is worthy of all worship, so we sing about his love for us and our love for him. Singing together focuses our minds on truth and our hearts on heaven. Our music style tends toward contemporary, but we also have a deep love for the great hymns of the church.

Sacraments

We believe God has given baptism and communion as sacraments for the church. In baptism, we declare our faith in Christ and commitment to follow him. In communion, we remember his sacrifice for our sins on the cross and we celebrate new life in him. Baptisms occur regularly as people follow Christ, and we typically share communion once every few weeks.

Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God and lives within the hearts of all true believers. He is active in our personal lives, and he is particularly active when the church meets together. Whether in private prayer with a friend in the lobby or through public comments to the entire congregation, we eagerly expect the Holy Spirit to be a part of our service.

Some Details

Now that you know what our Sunday Service is about, here are some practical-but-important details:

  • Child care is available for anyone six months to five years old. Come a little early, and go to the sign labeled "Kids" in the lobby to check in your children.
  • We are a casual community, so dress comfortably. A few of us find coats and ties very comfortable, but that's certainly not required!
  • Need directions? Here's a link to find us on the map app on your phone or find the written details here.
  • If for some reason, you can't make it in person, we offer a live stream of our services here.

New Life: A Study in Colossians
February 18 to May 19, 2024

When we first come to Jesus, he meets us right where we are. But he doesn’t leave us there. He begins a renovation of our entire lives. His loving mercy that drives him to die for us “while we were still sinners” (Rom 5:8), also drives him to transform us from the inside out. Christians are united with king Jesus and then strive to live with him as the center of all we do. This is the adventure of the Christian life and it is the message of the book of Colossians: “As you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him.” - Colossians 2:6. Join us as we explore Colossians and strive together to live our new life in Christ.

Sunday Classes at 9:15am

Make disciples of Jesus Christ. Go deeper into the Bible and apply it to your daily life.

The Sunday Service is essential to our church, but there is more to know about God and the Bible than we can cover in ninety minutes a week. Enter Sunday Classes! At 9:15am, on most Sundays during the school year, classes are available for adults and children of all ages.

Why Sunday Classes?

All around us, cultural pressure is increasing and Bible literacy is declining. There is increasing confusion and dysfunction. Sunday Classes will help us go deeper into theology, cultural issues, and practical Christian living, so that we can swim upstream against the cultural pressure.

Classes for Adults

  • Re:Engage the Culture – Re:Engage will examine our society's current views on gender, sexuality, social media, parenting and church and see how they measure up to God's word so that we will be better equipped to re-engage the culture with God's truth. (This class is primarily for high school students, but adults are welcome to come too.)
  • Ancient Church History – Ancient Church History will cover the church's first five centuries exploring such topics as persecution, heresy and the development of the canon of Scripture.
  • Life in the Spirit – This class will explore what Scripture says about spiritual gifts AND the grace of God to put it into practice.
  • The Listening Life – Listening is an essential skill for healthy relationships, both with God and with other people. By cultivating a posture of listening, we become more attentive and engaged with those around us. Heed the call to the listening life and hear what God is doing in you and the world.
  • Everything for Life and Godliness – In this class we will dig deeper into the awesome promises and powerful patterns for discipleship that Peter lays out in 2 Pet 1:3-11. Then we will seek to apply these practically to the trials of daily life.
  • Women's Bible Study: The Trinity – Knowing the triune God better will lead to deeper intimacy and greater joy. We will break down this intimidating doctrine into understandable language and engaging concepts to show how foundational and beautiful the Trinity is.
