Joy Club

September 26-December 12

Joy Club provides a program for the youth (ages 5-12) of the parents who are attending English classes at South Lake Elementary in Gaithersburg. Volunteers serve from 6-9 PM on Monday nights, with a training session on October 3 from 7-9 PM at Covenant Life Church. Joy Club has openings for greeters, discussion leaders, and helpers with crafts and games. For more information, email Jenn Fairchild.

English for Speakers of Other Languages

To keep up with rapidly growing registration, the ESOL program at South Lake is looking for teachers, teaching assistants, childcare helpers (for the youngest children), administration, special event helpers, help with translation of flyers, and even holiday bakers!  Email the ESOL Ministry for more information.

Every Day Is Christmas

Every Day is Christmas (EDIC) was created to help families during the holidays, particularly single parents or those who are struggling financially. With the help of volunteers, we decorate and deliver food baskets for Thanksgiving. We also empower parents to provide for their kids with an opportunity to purchase new toys for Christmas at a very low cost. Upcoming events include:

Uganda Trip (January 11-24, 2017)

Teams from Covenant Life have been traveling to Western Uganda for the past eight years to serve our dear friend and partner Pastor Moses. (Read about last January’s trip.) Peter and Sherly Giglio will again lead the team, and pastor Dave Brewer will serve as the main speaker at the youth conference. An informational meeting will be held after church on Sunday, September 18.
