Serving One Another with Our Gifts

Love One Another, Day 2 | April 30, 2024

Prayer Points:

  • Thank the Lord for the many ways you've been blessed and loved by others.
  • Ask the Spirit to show you who you could serve and love.
  • Pray that God continues to help you love without grumbling, growing in hospitality toward all.
  • Pray that God leads you to use your unique gifts to bless the church.
  • Thank the Lord for his great love toward us in salvation.

The end of all things is at hand; therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers. Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

1 Peter 4:7-11

Unity in the Gospel

Love One Another, Day 1 | April 29

Prayer Points:

  • Pray for a strong unity based on the gospel, so that the world will see Jesus in us.
  • Pray for unity in spite of our different backgrounds, cultures, opinions, and beliefs.
  • As we enter the election cycle this year, pray for those who have different political views.
  • Pray for unity among the elders and leaders of our church.
  • Pray for unity within the families of our church.

“I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me."

John 17:20-23

Pray the Mission

Spring Week of Prayer | April 29 – May 3

As a family on a mission, our goal is to worship God, love one another, and make disciples of Jesus Christ. This mission comes directly from our Savior’s great commandments and great commission.

Jesus said, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” – Matthew 22:37-39

And also, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” – Matthew 28:18-20

While our mission is not complicated, it is impossible without the help of the Spirit. Thankfully, Christ not only gives us this mission, he also promises to give us the power to fulfill it.

During the spring week of prayer, themed “Pray the Mission,” we will ask God to guide us with his wisdom and fill us with his power to keep his commandments and fulfill his commission. Each day you will find a new video encouragement from one of the pastors and a guide to pray together for our mission as a church.

The topics for prayer are:

  • Love One Another
    • Monday, April 29 – Unity in the Church
    • Tuesday, April 30 – Serving One Another
  • Make Disciples
    • Wednesday, May 1 – Following Jesus Personally
    • Thursday, May 2 – Fellowship and Family
    • Friday, May 3 – Sharing the Gospel with Not-Yet-Believers

Then, on the evening of Friday May 3rd, after the week of private prayer, we will gather corporately for a Worship Night at 7:00pm in the South Lobby that will focus on God’s holiness, power, wisdom, love, and faithfulness. Songs of praise to our God will be punctuated by scripture readings and times of prayer with and for each other. We believe that this week of prayer and worship will lead to greater gospel effectiveness in our church and community, and we encourage you to join with us in seeking God for power to fulfill our mission together.
