Easter

Easter Sunday

Sunday, March 31 at 10:30am

Jesus rose from the grave. Life after death is a reality that impacts today.

Surely God would not have created such a being as man,
with an ability to grasp the infinite, to exist only for a day!
No, no, man was made for immortality. – Abraham Lincoln

82% of Americans believe in the afterlife. But what will it be like? And how does it relate to life on earth today?

This Easter Sunday at Covenant Life, we will celebrate the fact that Jesus rose from the dead. In doing so, he opened the door for each of us to have an eternal life of joy with God in heaven.

And, what's more, for those who walk through that door by believing that Jesus is the Savior, eternal life with God begins now.

During this Easter Service, we will consider what Colossians 3:1-4 says, "... You have been raised with Christ ... You have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, the you will also appear with him in glory."

Join us as we celebrate how life after death becomes new life today through Jesus.

From Pastor Kevin

Thank you for clicking in to consider the good news of Easter. When you read the arguments on your social media feed or watch the tragic videos of suffering around the world, you may wonder if there is such a thing as good news any more.

At Covenant Life Church, we know life is full of difficulty and trial. We experience it, too. But we remain convinced of one essential truth: Jesus is alive. And that is truly good news. Today's suffering has a remedy. As Jesus was raised from the dead, never to die again, so we can find hope for eternal life and joy in him.

I want to cordially invite you to join our church family for our Good Friday and Easter Services. Come as you are, casual or dressed up, young or old, wealthy or struggling, Christian or questioning. All are welcome. We look forward to meeting you.

Sincerely,

Kevin Rogers
Lead Pastor

Good Friday – "Shadows"

Friday, March 29 at 7:00pm

The Old Testament is "a shadow of things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ." – Colossians 2:17

When Jesus suffered and died on the cross, he experienced what was foreshadowed by the prophets and kings of Israel in the Old Testament – in its full horror and beauty.

The Old Testament shadows appear in the stories of Abraham and Isaac (Genesis 22), Moses and the serpents (Number 21), Isaiah's suffering servant (Isaiah 53), the forsaken King David (Psalm 22), and the Passover Lamb (Exodus 12). Each of these images points forward to Jesus who embodied them all at once when he suffered and died on the cross.

Join us on Good Friday when we will soberly meditate on these foreshadowings of the death of Christ through songs, scriptures, and short messages.
