God wants us to be sure of our salvation, which is why He gives us tests in 1 John to objectively evaluate our lives by. In the opening message of Worthy 2012, Dave Brewer encouraged the teens to evaluate their life through their obedience to the Word of God. This is the opening message to the "become what you are" theme of the retreat.
Joshua Harris continued the retreat theme of "become what you are" teaching from Romans 13:11-14. For believers, Holiness requires an urgency to put to death sinful desires, as well as a putting on of the things of Christ.
Jon Smith taught from a number of texts that Jesus is our perfect example of Holiness, and that Jesus' holiness actually attracted the sinners towards Him. He challenged the teens to live a life of Holiness that draws sinners and shows them light of Christ.
From Colossians 3, Kevin Rogers taught that our aim in life is to actually live like who God has already made us in Christ. Sin wrecks the image of God in us, and our goal is to put off sin so the image of God can be fully revealed through us.
